My son was hit Monday evening, he has whiplash and is super sore but will be fine. He was stopped behind about 6 other vehicles letting one turn and a guy hit him at 60+mph, driving him into another car in front of him.
Will probably buy the totaled out 944 and part it out. - Non cracked dash on an '86 944 - wut?

Dang! Glad everyone's okay.

That sucks, but it is good to hear that your son wasn't hurt. It also looks like the 944 did its job and protected him.
There are a couple of guys on here with recently purchased 944 and 924 that may be interested. Aaron Brown and Mathias Rios as I remember.

I'm sorry about your son :(
I feel really bad, because I used to work at an indoor pool. The more elderly people would come in and talk about how injuries from accidents in the 60s/70s still hurt them today. Sounds like he's a tough guy though and he'll be fine :D

Poor 944 :-(

Just curious, does anyone else turn on their hazards when coming approaching significantly slower or stopped traffic in a location like a highway off ramp? (It looks like he was on a offramp).
I just do it naturally without thinking to try and avoid getting hit incase the guy approaching doesn't realize how slow or stopped traffic is.
Glad that everyone is okay!

Sweet mother of kinja... 6 duplicate posts!

I do that in bad weather if traffic slows down quick. In rain, snow, and fog in particular.

No, but I will pump my brakes a few times so the brake lights flash on and off to help clue the guy behind me in.

I am glad to hear your son is ok, hopefully his recovery from the whiplash goes well, I know how not fun that can be.
As for the car here is the German equivalent of Taps....because.

I guess the mod deleted them? I don't see them now. I did have a lot of trouble trying to save the above comment.

Glad to hear your son's OK.
For those sharing how old injuries can bother folks decades later, I would mention two things:
1. it could be a lot worse even as fairly minor injury goes, and even then medicine and medical science has come a long way - hopefully his generation gets to be much more comfortable as they age.
2. There are a lot of other ways to get injured than being hit in a (ok, minor) dream car. Accidents happen, just have to suck it up sometimes and deal. Sad to part out a car I'm sure he liked, too, but he'll keep other minor dream cars on the road while funding his next.

Thanks. Yea I'm sure he will be fine.

He was actually on the highway, it's a rural highway and someone was turning into their drive and had 6 or 7 cars stopped.

I do this as well if I think there is the slightest chance someone approaching me from behind does not see we are all stopped. We are probably the ones that will get our bodies wrecked in an accident like this too as we would tense up before impact.

I do this whenever I am in the DeLorean. It doesn't have a third brake light and it sits so low that I get nervous that people won't see it if the lights are on steady.
